What is Slipstream3D?

Slipstream3d is a set of 3 applications which work together to form an immersive "3 Dimensional" (3D) Internet experience for your visitors. These applications are:

• "Slipstream3D Interface (SI)"a Desktop User Interface. It is through this customized interface that the user accesses your 3d website.
• "The Stream" a 3D website (or world). Instead of a traditional flat 2 dimensional web site (2d), visitors can walk around in a 3d environment just as if they were in the real-world.
• "CAGE" (Chat And Gaming Environment). The same technology used in most PC or console games has been harnessed to provide your visitors with a custom environment where they can text chat or play a number of fast paced first person shooter (FPS) games. CAGEs come is two versions; single user and multi-user. In single user, the player battles pre-made enemies. In multi-user, the player may both chat with and/or battle other visitors who are logged on.

How Do Visitors View My 3D Site?

All they would need to do is download and install a FREE vrml viewer plug in. This plug in will allow them to enter your 3D website. Click here to get the viewer.

Why Should I Have a 3D Web site?

Change: The way we communicate is changing. We are moving from traditional low definition and content toward high definition and 3D content. The new Windows Vista operating system, for example, has many robust 3D features installed for viewing your photos, and Internet-based map navigation. 3D-centered web sites such as Active Worlds, Second Life and World of Warcraft offer online 3D chat - building - and role-playing environments; where people from all over the world can communicate, collaborate, and just have fun.

Better Features: A 3D web site can offer your visitors everything a 2d site can and more.

n Single Page: Instead of clicking though numerous pages, trying to find what they are looking for, visitors can walk (or teleport) to exactly what content they want to see within your 3D web site.

n Web site Traffic: By creating a unique 3D web site - you are offering visitors something fun and entertaining. You are also giving them a reason to revisit, and tell others about, your site.

n Sound, Video & Animated Billboard Ads: With your 3D web site, you can target advertisements at visitors interested in specific products or services. Using advanced sound, video, and animated billboard "sensor nodes," specific advertisements will activate as the visitor approaches an area of interest (say the shoe department), and turn off as they move away. This system of sensor nodes allows you to place as many ads as you like in your 3D web site, without distracting (or annoying) your visitors (as do pop ups and other 2d ads).

n Custom Objects: Objects are anything in your 3D site which a visitor may interact with. You might have buildings, trees, cars, desks, shelves and almost anything else you can dream up. Choose from our many available object, have us create custom objects for you, or purchase them from a third party (like turbosquid.com). All objects are (must be) in the .wrl file format.

Seamless Integration: If you already have a 2d web site - we can seamlessly integrate it into your new 3D site. All of the links, text, and images currently in your 2d site can be set up as well.

What Do I Do with My Current Web site?

You keep it.

n Your 3D web site is meant to compliment and enhance your 2d site; not replace it. There are a few Internet functions (such as contact forms, e-mail, and Flash animation) which only a 2d website can handle.

NOTE: It is important, however, that you update both sites at the same time. This way visitors will find the same products and/or services on both.
